HCMV real time PCR kit is used for the detection of CMV in serum, plasma, leukocyte or urine by using real time PCR systems.

 

1. Monitoring, Evaluation and prevention
- Immune deficiency, and malignant tumor patients suffering from damaged immune system with HCMV are more likely to show clinical symptoms;
- Infection of HCMV among pregnant women can cause abortion, stillbirth, hearing loss and developmental delays in surviving infants. CMV-DNA detection can be used to study the etiology of malformation, low birth weight, stillbirth, abortion, and infant hepatitis syndrome;
- Quantitative CMV-DNA detection helps evaluating the efficacy of antiviral therapy in HCMV infected patients;
- Used to study the relationship between CMV and tumor: it is believed that CMV is related to the occurrence of cervical cancer, testicular cancer, prostate cancer, Kaposi's sarcoma,fibroblast carcinoma, Wilms tumor, and colon cancer.
